Who wants more Chinese Faking duck?
Stories of the Chinese faking some of the highlights of their hosting of the Beijing Olympics are ruining what seemed like a perfect hosting of the Olympics. In addition to allegations of cheating in the women gymnastics team were they won the Gold, confirmed reports of faking emerged.
The girl who appeared singing the national anthem suring the opening ceremony was actually lip-syncing. The voice singing Ode To The Motherland came from seven-year-old Yang Peiyi and not Lin Miaoke. Apparently, they think Yang Peiyi was not attractive enough. The Chinese government were so concerned about China’s image but they ended up losing their face in the international community.
“The reason why little Yang was not chosen to appear was because we wanted to project the right image, we were thinking about what was best for the nation.”
That’s Chen Qigang, the General Music Designer of the 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony, revealed in an interview.
If I may say this, at least in that aspect, even with our obsession with whiter skin, we Pinoys still give more value to singing talent. We have loads of singers who are not good looking but became famouse because of their voice.
Even the Opening Ceremony was perfect to a T. So perfectly faked. What we thought was the best Olympics Opening turned out to be nothing more but computer generated. The footprint-shaped fireworks seen on televisions worldwide were enhanced since they thought it was too dangerous to have a helicopter film it live. Then why even bother with it? Heck, if we want to watch a 3D animation then we would have watched Dreamworks films. Let’s hand it to the firm who did the computer animation. They did a great job.
According to the Beijing Olympic Committe, tickets to the event were sold out. However, visitors noticed that there were empty seats, which make their claim questionable . Indeed it was confirmed that venues with only a few spectators were filled with cheerleader volunteers. It seemed that Pinoys learned the “hakot crowd” strategy from the Chinese. Or is it the other way around?

as i commented in someone else’s post, the chinese should have faked the face with surgery and all that. Grown ups do those things. And no one will complain.

@ceblogger – ouch! kaluoy man sg bata uy! personally, i won’t care if the girl did not look so perfect as long as her voice is that good. it’s a pity that they only appreciate beauty on the outside.
