Women often spend a lot of money just to delay if not prevent aging. I’m not the type to spend a fortune on it since I don’t have a lot but I also do more than just wash my face with soap and water. Most people think I’m younger than my actual age because I’m petite. But yesterday, I was alarmed when the crew of Dunkin Donuts gave me a Dad of the Hour button and told me “Ma’am, Happy Father’s Day lang sa husband mo.” I just didn’t correct him lest I embarrass myself more than I already am.

I was alone so what could have made that guy conclude I’m married?

I look so hot that it would be impossible for me to still be single. Yes, damol ko guya. What I lack in vanity I compensate with chutzpah.
My body is screaming that I’m already married. Yes, I have a few bulges not in their proper places.
I look old enough to be married. I am old enough but I thought I’ve done a great job of hiding that fact.

Well, I hope it was letter A but whatever reasons he may have I think it was still impolite for him to assume anything. He could have said Happy Father’s Day to my father instead. Not all women may have a husband but all of us definitely have a father. I wonder how many signs of aging he saw on my face but for me it’s the first sign. It’s the first sign that I should get married soon.

hmmm…didn’t thought of that. when you’re getting older you also become sensitive to the age issue. at least in my case.

yup, that’s why i’m a little concerned…little lang. especially when you’re still single at 30 people here in the province start to call you old maid. hehehe…i like to stroll at the lagoon. there’s a lot of ‘views’ to see and it’s safe even at night unlike in iloilo. try to stroll at plaza libertad at night and you either get an indecent proposal or a knife at your back.

you’re right. He/she should not assume anything. Jumping to conclusions isn’t a problem when you jump to the right conclusion. This is what mostly fast food chain’s crew do, they usually greet us when we enter but most of them, they don’t mean it, it’s a SOP so even their assumptions are wrong or not, as long as they can deliver it to their customers, tsakto na sa ila.

yes, mga loyalista ko na. hehehe…it’s weird when a crew greets you while cleaning the window. so i only reply to those who look me in the eyes when they greet me otherwise i don’t bother.

It used to be a lot easier when someone assumes me as younger, I didn’t see the need to correct. But now when someone says I’m probably at 27 or 28, it’s hard not to bat an eyelash. So I swallow first before I say uhuh. Hahahaha!
Since loyalista ako, I’ll go for #1… but really, it’s a #3?

as long as we age gracefully…hmm…i think u can still pass off as 27-28. hehehe..wedding? di ba you guys are planning it last year? let’s inform the groom first.
