The Cost of My Stupidity

I was just charged with a P400 for a credit card replacement. I declared my card stolen when in fact it was not, not knowing there’s a fee for it. For my peace of mind and to remind me of my stupidity, I’m willing to pay the price.

You see, I had my credit card photocopied back-to-back as an attachment to my loan application to PS Bank. A trusted agent of ours, whom we know for almost two years, had previously warned us against it. He said no credit card company requires a photocopy of the back of a credit card as supporting document to a credit card application. I remembered this when another agent told me I needed to photocopy the back of my credit card for my PS bank loan application. I was hesitant at first but still obliged since I needed the money. I made an online transaction yesterday and I realized how easy it is to use another person’s credit card as long as you have the cvv (the three numbers at the back of your card). That got me worried. My credit limit was almost used up but then as long as I know someone else know my cvv I won’t be able to relax. So there, I declared my credit card stolen and ended up paying the P400. At least I can sleep well tonight.

Ahh.. lesson learned, right? And if you really think about it, peace of mind is priceless. I’d shell out the dough if it meant that too. :)

Iceyelo: Yup, one of the things I regret in life is that I got myself a credit card…several credit cards for that matter. And now I slave myself getting ‘rakets’ just to pay off my debts. Hay naku, I leave my cards at home na din just so I have no choice but to spend in cash. I’m even tempted to cut them.

Salamat naman sa pagbisita dito. You’re always welcome. I’ll return the favor by visiting your blog also. Pwedeng pwede ang Tagalog. Di mo naman maririnig yung punto ko pag nag-Tagalog ako so ok lang. :-D
