Shame on Bolante

15 November 2008 539 Views 13 CommentsPrint this post Print this post Email this post Email this post

I watched part of the Senate hearing on Jocelyn “Joc-Joc” Bolante last November 13 and I must say I’m hands down to Mr. Bolante. He’s really good at lying and has perfected it to a tee. The gall of the guy to think that Filipinos are stupid.

Bolante, was accused of masterminding the P728-million fertilizer fund scam. Imagine how that money could have helped our farmers if it was used correctly. Some people just cannot “moderate their greed.” Bolante is one of them and whoever is behind Bolante is the master of all thieves.

Bolante is really good at fooling people, it’s probably like a second skin to him. This Bolante, has fooled the whole Augustinian community. When the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City celebrated its centennial anniversary last 2004, the school gave recognition to their outstanding alumni, the 100 Outstanding Augustinians of the Century. Guess who’s on the list? Joc-Joc Bolante! Check out the USA Communitas Bulletin and browse to page 7 and you’ll see the name Jocelyn Bolante as one of the 100 Oustanding Augustinians of the Century under the Government Services Category.

Wow, he was recognized as an Outstanding Augustinian of the Century the year he allegedly masterminded the P728-million fertilizer fund scam. Such irony.

Imagine, I share the same alma mater with Bolante. The Augustinians should not be ashamed but it’s Bolante who should be ashamed of himself, if he knows what shame means. The university’s motto is “Virtus et Scientia”, virtue and science, Bolante do not know the meaning of virtue. St. Augustine must be turning in his grave for his most holy name to be attached to somebody as  vile.

Bolante does not embody the whole Augustinian community but he’s giving the university a bad name.  I think the univerity through the alumni association should do something about it. If the university conferred such recognition to Bolante, can it take it back? Can the university rectify itself? I do hope so.

Lets just hope that he have a strand of conscience left and confess to the Filipino people all the thievery that he, the congressmen that receive the Fertilizer Fund and the President had done in the name of staying in power.

      Kawawang Pilipinas.

Swell…it’s a good thing an Augustinian reflects on one of the Augustinian Achievers (also one of the many One-of-a-Kind Alumni, http://www.usa.edu.ph/communitas/2003.07.2003.09/Communitas.pdf ).

In July 2006, I once commented here http://www.pcij.org/blog/?p=1051 that your alma mater is silent on the issue of bolante’s involvement. I hope your reflection will reach the school officials concerned so they may also reflect on the issue. Perhaps they may be instrumental in rectifying the lies being perpetrated.

This could probably be a challenge to you and other alumni of Iloilo’s University of San Agustin to rally on your motto and let bolante apply the virtue he has been taught the Augustinian way.

      Thanks and more power!

      hi gurl,

i have a story to tell. dedicated not only to bolate but also to delaFakz. the title is called: Amberrrellla. sori, aaangkinin ko na tong blog mo! pede? hahaha!

      UMBRELLA

World’s R&B sensation Rihanna and Chris Brown were in Manila for a back to back concert at the Fort. Whereas the notorious duo sensation of Jocelyn Bolante and Eliseo dela Paz were also back in town for a back to back detention at the holding room of the Senate.

Huge crowds with almost the entire younger Pinoy generation greeted and adored Rihanna and Chris Brown arriving from New Zealand and Australia. These were the very Pinoy generation who just lost part of their future with the Senate investigation of the notorious duo of Jocelyn Bolante arriving from the United States and Eliseo dela Paz arriving from Russia. At stake? P728 million and P6.9 million pesos of public monies.

So when Eliseo dela Paz was asked if he was going to tell everything he knew, Dela Paz replied: “Oo naman [Yes, of course].” “Kaya nga nandito ako [That’s exactly why I am here],” he added. That’s when Rihanna belted out the opening number “Disturbia”.

It’s not true that concert tickets cost P728 million 1st row and P6.9 million last row. But The Fort does need the fertilizer to replace the muddled grasses, you know! You just need one very expensive watch to set the timer and watch the grass grow.

Chris Brown sang the song “I’m gonna Rock with you!” I could imagine Eliseo dela Paz asking Jocelyn Bolante, “Are you rockin’ with me?“, of which Jocjoc responded, “Yeah, I’m rockin’ with ya’!”

Meanwhile, the very responsive crowd sang mightily with both Rihanna and Chris Brown, like singing with their lungs out to Michael Jackson’s “Beat it” . Yeap, beat it! Were they singing it for Jocelyn and Eliseo?!

Yet, as if on cue as to who the people that Jocelyn Bolante and Eliseo dela Paz were trying to shield or hide, Rihanna closed the concert by singing “…

      “Umbrella”

LOL!
