PromdiBlogger now blogging at Blogging Pinoy
Yup, Gladita - The PromdiBlogger (ehem, that’s me) will start blogging at Blogging Pinoy under the nick Promdiliving. What is Blogging Pinoy all about?
Blogging Pinoy is a multi-authored blog that provides a view on being a Filipino and the Philippines in general.
I joined the team because it sits well with my advocacy to love and be proud of our roots as a promdi and as a Filipino. I believe in what the site stands for and what it can do to positively influence the general view of others on being a Filipino. Well, not all things about us are good but by looking at the mirror we can probably improve ourselves.
Here’s my first contribution and sort of my application post:
Tragedies make heroes out of ordinary people. If there’s one thing we Pinoys can count on during a disaster, it is the spirit of bayanihan. If you thought this typical Filipino trait is dead, well think again. At the height of typhoon Frank’s wrath, it was bayanihan that helped victims survived. Neighbors helping each other, strangers taken in for refuge, fishermen rescuing survivors, these are just a few of what Pinoys are willing to do to help a fellow in need.
The sad thing is, it took a disaster for this trait to come to the surface. How many disasters will it take for us to make bayanihan a way of life like it used to be?
If you want to read what fellow Filipinos have to say about being a Filipino and what it’s like living in the Philippines, go give Blogging Pinoy a visit. You might like what you’ll see in the mirror.
