Nang Dahil sa Pag-IBIG

I have already considered the idea of buying a property through Pag-IBIG since last year. It remained an idea since I coudn’t afford the equity requirement. Then I saw the Pag-IBIG Housing Fair 2006 booth at Robinsons Place so I immediately inquired. The program gives Pag-IBIG members an opportunity to purchase foreclosed properties through Pag-IBIG at 15% discount. You are required to pay for the 10% downpayment within 15 days of reservation otherwise it will be given to the other applicants.

So last October 28, I submitted the reservation form for a property where I got the first priority. The 10% downpayment was very reasonable and the monthly ammortization was even less than my monthly rent. I was a little short on cash but then since the yearend bonus is nearly within reach I was thinking of asking some friends to loan me a few thousand pesos. I already told my parents of my plan and asked my nephew to stay with me.

Yesterday, I visited the said property and made up my mind that I will push through with my plan. The village is secured and very accessible. The house is still occupied by the original owner but I have already sought the help of a friend who has some law background on the matter. Everything is working according to plan.

And then that phone call. A Pag-IBIG staff called me this afternoon to inform me that they have made a mistake. They have mislooked that an applicant was previously approved for the Rent-To-Own program on the said property who will now have the first priority. Then why the hell did you post it in the first place? To think of all the hassles I’ve been through! Was it just an honest mistake? How incompetent can you get! If only I have GMA for a mother!

Darn. And I was hoping to read a cheesy entry about love. :) I think you have a right to be pissed. That PAG-IBIG employee totally rained on your parade. Maybe it wasn’t meant to be.

nah, i applied at their office. hay naku, i doubt if it was really an honest mistake. maybe somebody ‘close’ to somebody at Pag-IBIG was interested in the property. there was really no transparency in their processing. o baka madumi lng utak ko. hehehe

What’s left of it and a loan proceed, I used to pay for down payment for a house and lot through Pag-IBIG. I’ve been planning to get a housing loan since last year. Initially, I planned on getting a foreclosed property but I was discouraged due to an unfortunate experience I had with Pag-IBIG. […]
