As the official filing of certificate of candidacy starts today, so is the wrath of Malacañang on its enemies. The wave of dismissal of public officials opposed to the administration is an indication that yes indeed, election is just around the corner. Governor Tupas of Iloilo was not spared of the same fate. Vice Governor Armada was sworn in today as Governor of Iloilo upon the dismissal of Tupas. Very unfortunate for Iloilo when the dismissal had to be now when Iloilo is looking forward to the Dinagyang Festival.
I was not born during the martial law period but people I know who were say that our country today is worse than martial law. Should now be the time for me to pack my bags, leave the country and say ‘Go to hell Philippines, you deserve what you get for the kind of politicians you vote?’ Am I not guilty of the same mistake? Sadly I am. Yes, although I vote for those whom I think are lesser evils, I still accept their blood money. Evil in any degree is still evil. It all runs in the family. As if their position is their birthright being passed down from one generation to the next. Who are you going to vote for when all of them, the incumbent and the opposition, are trying to buy your vote? I used to get their money and vote for whoever I think is a lesser evil. But not this time.
The trapos in Iloilo can shove their money (that’s our money!) or they can feed it to their animals (go figure). They’ve done enough or should I say not enough, in more than a decade of dynasty in our district. Not a single member of their family or any of their cohorts will have my vote this coming election. How unfortunate for Iloilo, one of them may now have a chance to be the next governor of Iloilo. God help us.

have never voted. i know it’s bad, pro i don’t know ah…nadula na ang paging makabayan ko! hehe. musta, bakiks?
hehe…gani man. ka frustrating lng gid. i know it’s an exercise of futility but ga-vote man ko gyapon. ga hope man ko gyapon for a better pinas. but i’ve accepted the fact that it will probably not be in my lifetime. =-)
