Lea Salonga Wants to Sing National Anthem in Pacquiao vs. Hatton Fight

by PromdiBlogger on April 1, 2009

Lea Salonga has expressed her willingness to sing the Philippine National Anthem in the Pacquiao vs. Hatton Fight on May 2 in Las Vegas. I would love for her to sing. First, because I’m a fan and second, because I want to hear the Lupang Hinirang being sang correctly.

I’m interested to hear Lea Salonga’s version. All the previous singers who sang the Lupang Hinirang has somehow made a few deviations from how it should be sang. Maybe because it should be in a marching tempo and with that, the vocal prowess of the singer will not be the center of attention.

Lea Salonga is also a familiar face to the Britons so at least that would redeem us when they hear Manny Pacquiao sing his own entrance song. I just wish he would just stick to boxing. Vocal chords transplant is not yet possible so not even his millions and countless of voice lessons can make him sound good. But then, that’s just my ears talking.

Now, if Lea said she’s willing to sing then I don’t see why the Pacquiao camp wouldn’t let her. They couldn’t get any better singer than her. If you’re talking about world class talent, all the others pale in comparison. If you say otherwise, your comments will be deleted. X-(

well, Lea Salonga will give justice to the our National Anthem! manny and Lea as our nation’s pride will be a sure-fire hit. Besides, Lea has gained popularity among the Brits. So why not? Lea Salonga to sing the Lupang Hinirang…is an intelligent choice!

Yes, it seems Manny Pacquiao chose Martin over Lea and I’m very disappointed. Lea would have been great. :-(
