Experience Negros Occidental Beyond Sugar

26 August 2008 793 Views 23 CommentsPrint this post Print this post Email this post Email this post

Each of the different Philippine provinces is unique. Each is known for a certain character and product.  For Negros Occidental it is sugar. In fact, Negros Occidental produces more than half of the Philippines’ total sugar output. The province has become synonymous with sugar but unbeknown to most, Negros Occidental has more to offer. A beautiful province naturally blessed, a rich culture, charming people and delectable cuisine - are just some of what Negros Occidental has to offer that are best when experienced.

It is unfair that only those of us living here get to enjoy these wonders. So it is with pride that I bring to you my contribution to a province that I have come to love.

ExperienceNegros.com will showcase the best Negros Occidental has to offer from actual experiences of contributors. We will also feature news and current developments that will make you want to experience being here, now. But don’t just take our words fo it. Experience it yourself.

I just have to thank some people for making this project possible:

1. For the Theme - Thanks to ChiQMontes of WPThemeDesigner for Revolution ProMedia. it’s through her kindness that I was able to get this wonderful theme, for FREE.  Also for the theme designer, Brian Gardner, he was very helpful when I had problems tweaking the theme.

2. For the Banner - Thanks a lot to Tony Manso for providing the banner. As soon as I can tweak the theme some more I will be able to show other banners he designed.

3. For the Photos - In addition to my own photoshots, I will be using, with permission, photos taken by Roxie Yap, Tony Manso and Anne Valdez.

4. For the Articles - Thanks to Roxie Yap, my partner in crime. I believe we do share the same passion for traveling, taking pictures, and sharing our experiences. Sugarboy  of Skyscrapercity.com Bacolod Forum, thank you for contributing. I hope I can reciprocate the favor in the future. The rest of the people at SSC Bacolod are also very helpful, thank you guys.

5. Last but not the least, thanks to Tikalon. Sorry, all the excitement and lack of sleep have clouded my memory. Thanks for introducing me to blogging, to Wordpress and for getting me started on how to get a domain name, hosting and how to tweak the theme. A true-blue Bacoleña and probably the only Tikalon who doesn’t brag. This is all your fault.

I know I sound like I’m accepting an award. But being able to “launch” (daw piho hehehe) ExperienceNegros is enough award for the many sleepless nights and backaches I experienced. It is a labor of love but this is not only my work but a  collaboration of the people who share the same passion of promoting Negros Occidental as a major tourist and investment destination in the Philippines.

Please do give us a visit at ExperienceNegros. Gina abi-abi namon kamo. Salamat sa pagbisita!
