I admit I’m not also very good with Philippine Geography and I can’t memorize all the Philippine provinces. But if I make that mistake I’m sure you’ll forgive me. However, if mainstream media such as a television news report would make such a mistake, it’s entirely a different story.
The writers of TV 5 just made that mistake in one of their news tonight. A story about a pilot plant for bio-diesel from jathropa in Bayawan City, Oriental Negros was referred to as a “Dumaguete town” as if Bayawan is a …

Today, we remember that fateful day of August 21, 1983 when NInoy Aquino was assassinated at the tarmac of what was then the Manila International Airport. Twenty-five years had passed, his assassination remain unsolved.
I was too young to remember the events of 1983. What I know of Ninoy are what’s written about him in high school history books, articles and television features. And the fact that an International Airport was named after him, that he is on the 500 peso bill, that Cory Aquino was his wife and Kris and …

Well, well, well… all this hullabaloo over the Bigfoot body found in Georgia turned out to be just chismis. The three men involved in the Bigfoot press conference were publicist and veteran Bigfoot hunter Tom Biscardi, and the two alleged discoverers of a Bigfoot carcass in the state of Georgia — prison guard Rick Dyer and police officer Matthew Whitton. They had nothing to show the audience but two blurry photos, one of a solitary figure in mixed hardwood forest and another of the mouth of what appeared to be …

I am personally for federalism but I think all Filipinos should also be consulted as to whether they are in favor of it. It is not a perfect form of government so I think there should be consultations and information dissemination in the community level so that the people can make their choice.

Senator Mar Roxas, Mr. Palengke has also started blogging. If you ask me, it’s a cost-effective channel for him to be closer to Filipinos. His blog will be a good venue for him to push his advocacy, present his programs and his stand on issues and for us ordinary Filipinos to share our views.
This early I can say that the Internet will play a big part in the race to 2010 Philippine Presidential Elections. If we only base the number of Filipinos who are online on the number of Friendster …

How would you describe 2008 SONA?
I wasn’t able to watch the live coverage of 2008 State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Arroyo. I had to spend time with my Nanay you know so everything else come in second. So I really missed a lot, not the SONA but the clothes, or lack thereof, of those in attendance.
Mayor Rosario Camma of Nagtipunan, Quirino apparently stole the limelight when he arrived at the House of Representatives he in his G-string. The promdi upstaged the fashionista senators and wives of politicians …

Monday’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) of GMA will be the most interesting for me. I hope I won’t hear a lot of rhetoric and gimmicks in this year’s SONA. The Filipinos need realistic outputs and not drawings on the board. I’ve had enough of ‘bangkang papel’. As an Ilonggo idiom goes, basa na papel ni GMA. She needs more than gimmicks to salvage what’s left of her reputation.
During the 2004 elections it was the Visayas which gave her the biggest margin. But where was she when Visayas especially …
