I have been very busy these days that I often forget to blog about really special days. My friend slash co-worker Maia came over from Iloilo last February 28, Saturday. All because she wanted to watch the Pop Icons concert. Unless you were living in a cave, the Pop Icons are Christian Bautista, Mark Bautista, Sam Milby, and Piolo Pascual. Not that I’m a die hard fan but it’s not everyday that you get to see these guys so I decided to watch the concert too.
She also wanted to visit the MV Doulos in Bacolod City so we decided to drop by in the morning. It was almost noon when we got there but there was still a long line of visitors.

After we left MV Doulos at the BREDCO Port, we proceeded to Resto Grill sa Baybay located at the Reclamation area. The location is very relaxing and the food was good. I thought I ate enough food to last until the concert. It’s turning to be a really nice weekend.
But there’s more. I received a text from the friend to whom I reserved the concert tickets. She told me we will pay only P250 which is for general admission but we get to sit at the P1,500 seats. Don’t you just love the friends of your friends.
Papa P!
It turned out to be the concert of Piolo and friends. All the loudest shrieks are reserved for Piolo Pascual, including mine. Yes, I did shout my heart out. Totally shameless.
It was a very good concert, though they weren’t able to fill all seats the La Salle Coliseum, it was a night filled with fun and laughter. Whatever they say about Papa P, I still find him hot and he’s the ultimate heartthrob. But then, there was this voice shouting Piolo! Piolo! What’s strange is that it was a male voice. Not the shrieking voice of a gay but a male voice. Hmmm… Whoever that was, I hope he meant it as a joke.
Of all four, it was mark Bautista who had the best voice. And the lousiest was Sam Milby. He even forgot a few lines of a sone. But because he has very good teeth, I forgive him. And for Christian, well he went near our seats and all I got was a very blurred shot.
Here’s my favorite part of the concert:
The Rise of The Ruins
The following day, we decided to go to The Ruins in Talisay City. It was my first time to go there although a friend has featured it in my other blog. It’s quite easy to get to The Ruins even by public transport. It’s just 15 minutes away from downtown Bacolod by private vehicle.
The Ruins became very popular through word of mouth. People who have visited can’t stop but speak of the awe-inspiring structure. The building was built in the 1920’s but due to its excellent structural design, what’s left of it after it was burned durig the WWII are still in very good condition. The Ruins structure is really admirable with it’s beautiful architecture that withstood the test of time.
Our Ruins trip would not be complete without sampling the food served at the restaurant.
We waited until sunset at The Ruins then meet up with our friend slash co-worker Roxanne at the L’ Sea Restaurant. Aftwards we had coffeee and desserts at Calea. What a nice way to end a perfectly nice weekend.
Thank you guys for a great weekend. Weekend such as this takes a lot of the unpleasantness of the week.
