Filipinos woke up today with a sad news that around 40 people were massacred yesterday in Maguindanao all in the name of politics. This is not the exact number but then, we are talking about human lives. Any number would not make the crime less gruesome. Whoever did this are barbarians. They raped the women and killed defenseless civilians and journalists. These people have no respect for the law and I doubt they even believe in God, regardless of what religion that may be.
This is really a dark day for us Filipinos, for press freedom and humanity. We should all condemn this crime and demand the government to extract justice. If the military claims they know who the brains behind this gruesome killings then there’s no reason why they cannot be made to pay for their crimes.
This is a litmus test of our democracy. If this crime will not be solved, then what is the government for?

this is really an agitating story. it makes me want to go out into the middle of the street and scream my lungs out.
You are not alone. I feel the same way. I’m angry both at the murderers and at the way the government is handling this.
When something as gruesome as this happens, I find it hard to find the words to describe my disgust. Simply put, this is tribal politics at its bloodiest and it is this kind of politics that brings us down. These warlords are desperate to cling to whatever sliver of power they have and are willing to do even the most savage, most brutal crimes to stay in power.
The hard truth is that our country is still stuck in the Dark Ages. Where human life is worth nothing. Where the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is nothing more than just words on paper. I was never really ready to give up on the Philippines and the Filipinos. But its easy to be disillusioned.
Political kingpins are present even in Visayas and Luzon but the situation I think is much worse in Mindanao. I know people from there who studied in Iloilo and never came back to their hometown except for short visits.
this is inhuman, barbaric act, the blood that runs into their veins is a blood of demons they don’t deserve due process or what so ever law our country has this is way beyond. They think those people as their toys. its better to let their own people kill them bring them into the center of their own town and tie them up and stone them to death to bring justice to those people who being killed in a bloody carnage. this case will go as a cold case for sure, this gov. don’t have any power to exercise the law of this country our Filipino people have seen so many cases as this before and its been into a cold case file. This is the truth about our country , this country has no power to protect its own people and that is the truth who ever will take that position still we don’t have any power to protect our own people from our own Armed Forces, Police you will see and know if this Forces can protect its country and its own people its totally a BIG NO and NO.
The government should go after those who are guilty no matter who they are. If the Arroyo administration fail in doing so, then we better keep that in mind this coming elections. We are all tempted to let them kill each other but my friend, we will not be any different from those monsters if we agree on that.
