The list of 2009 Philippine Holidays was made official by President Arroyo by signing the Presidential Proclamation 1699 last Christmas Eve which lays out the official 2009 Philippine holidays. There will be enough reasons for Pinoys to celebrate and go on vacation this 2009.

If you’re planning on spending some time in the provinces during the holidays, take note of these long weekends. Whether you’re a promdi or an urbanite, I encourage you to travel around the Philippines to help our local tourism and boost our economy.
- April 4 – 6
- April 9 – 12

Holiday economics has long been implemented by the Arroyo administration in order to encourage domestic tourism and to give Pinoys more time to spend with their families. The long weekends allow more time for Pinoys to go on vacation especially to the provinces.
