2008 Masskara Festival Officially Open

by PromdiBlogger on October 2, 2008

No less than the President herself, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, declared the 29th Masskara Festival officially open yesterday at the Bacolod City Public Plaza. The event is very historic since it’s the first time that a Philippine president graced the opening ceremonies.

As expected, wherever GMA goes, the protesters follow her. GMA’s speech was interrupted by protesters raising placards and shouting “Oust GMA”. She resumed her speech as if nothing happened after the police got the protesters under control.

Fortunately, this did not dampen the festive mood. The President announced MassKara Festival officially open amidst confetti and balloons. With this year’s theme “Bacolod: City of the World”, expect this year’s MassKara Festival to live up to your expectations and more.  Feel the heat of the Masskara Festival fever with this year’s Masskara Festival music.

Oh, wow, it is more than half a month of celebration now? I think before it used to be a week, then, 2 weeks. At least, my brother’s family would be able to see and experience some since they would visit Bacolod on those days.
