2008 Bacolaodiat Festival
Kung Hei Fat Choi! Bacolod City welcomed the Year of the Earth Rat with an Evening Lantern Parade of the Twelve Zodiac sign animals and the customary dragon dance. The parade started from SM City and culminated in the Provincial Capitol Lagoon. The 6th Street was closed in order to give way to the kiosks and rolling carts of food aptly named Chopsticks Alley.
Thousands trooped to the Capitol Lagoon to witness the synchronized fireworks display at the Capitol and across at 6th Street. Celebrations of the Chinese New Year will be until February 10. Click here for the 2008 Bacolaodiat Schedule of Activities.
